Learning Opportunity Part 1 - Storyboard It

Part 1 (Week 1)

Your task this week is simple:

The world has stopped.  Here we are.  Here you are.  How would you interpret this experience into a non-fictional (documentary) or perhaps a  fictional narrative?  Maybe an art film? Maybe a music video?  Maybe a fake movie trailer?  What genre speaks to you the most?  Incorporate your experience, or create a creative interpretation of your experience through fact or fiction, using simple, or powerful, camera composition (think any of the 11 Essential Shots) to frame your film.

Your only task this week is to either make from scratch, download, and/or print out a storyboard template and storyboard a minimum of 24 shots, 8 of which need to be CUs (Close-Ups) of your vision for your film.  It can be related to any aspect of your current experience.

Click HERE to create your own storyboard.  -OR-  Print out the attached storyboard template (see below).

Still have your 11 Essential Shots worksheet (see below)?  Dig it up and use those as a reference for how you would frame this film for your audience.  Get creative in your use of the camera and camera angles.  Try not use shaky "rogue" camera shots that go on for way too long.

Part 2 (Week 2)

Have your storyboard completed by Monday, April 13th.  You'll get further instructions and begin Part 2 starting Monday next week.

Again, you can choose from ANY of the following genre to storyboard for your film:
(Remember the film examples of these genres that we watched at the beginning of the semester.

Non-Fiction (Informational) or Documentary

Fictional Narrative (Short Narrative Film)

Art Film (See Shorewood student example HERE)
